Mime & Movement
A bit of Humour...bit of Pathos...bit of Art
I Hate Mime!
Integrating live action, film segments, rock music, and cartoons (by renowned cartoonist Patrick Cook), this show was a multimedia experience - before multimedia became a buzz word. The title was inspired by an audience member commenting after a performance of Son of Romeo that "...I hate mime, but I loved your show". Film segments from this stage show were also featured in the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Son of Romeo
The highly successful original stage version of the show which was later adapted into a multi award-winning television special, 'Son of Romeo' presents a bizarre, cartoon, solo mime version of Shakespeare's classic tale of 'Romeo & Juliet'. Described in the media as: "...a complete entertainment spectacle", 'Son of Romeo' takes solo performance to new heights.
A bit of... represents Christiaan Willems' first solo stage show, and as the title suggests, presents an intiguiging blend and observation of uniquely human foibles, fantasies and fascinations in sketch form.
